These dogs excrete a sticky substance, though this substance is rarely exposed as these hounds love to roll in piles of coins, covering themselves in a coat like scale armor. Though usually coins left lying around for these dogs to roll in are copper, they will sometimes be seen with silver or even gold coins, or perhaps a variety.

When a copper hound is killed, the coins continue to adhere for one turn until the sticky substance wears off.

Someone told me that high AC is one of the things that kill low level parties, but in this case, a scale armor type means more weapons will have a decent hit rate. Still a little spooky. Best thing to do is haul out the worthless coppers so they have nothing to roll in. Maybe a local numismatist can find some value in there 😉
