The Book of Jex-Chapter 16

And it came to pass that with King Heckaton in our company, our reception in Maelstrom was somewhat warmer than in our previous visit and he opened many doors to us. For behold, his access to spies and scrying did inform us of the location of Imriss and he did gather trusted warriors, among them Harshnag (who had survived his fight with Imriss) and Felgolos, to go and attack Imriss in her home. Yeah, and Aavon was given raw materials sufficient to construct 30 archers to accompany us in the attack.

And thus we did teleport the desert ruin where Imriss dwelt. And now, as we approached the pit that seemed to grant access to her lair, gargoyles like the one she had sought to turn me into attacked. And behold, I myself was struck with a stone from a trebuchet, but by the might of Torm, I continued to stand and unleash his wrath upon them.

And it came to pass that we had soon destroyed all of the vile gargoyles and stood ready to descend in search of our quarry.

My character, Jex, is a Half-elf Celestial Warlock with the Urchin background. The Book of Jex will be the story of his spiritual journey from being a chaotic neutral street denizen doing whatever it takes to survive to becoming a noble and courageous servant of Torm willing to give his life for the greater good.
