Raglan’s Journal 37

I was able to magically locate the stolen king and using a sending spell informed Anduin of his theft and my intentions to pursue rather than retrieve my armor. As the king was not moving anymore, I moved slowly and Anduin and Juniper soon joined me. The winding tunnels made my locating spell almost useless in finding our way, but we eventually descended into a magically warded dungeon where we cut down cultists who turned out to be members of the king’s council.

The first cultists we slew were confusing members, those who seemed more loyal, but after passing traps and tunnels we came to a ritual chamber where the rest of the council surrounded the dead king. We killed them all, Penelope last, and the king awoke, the daggers falling from his body. We were confident it wasn’t him and when interrogation was fruitless, teleported back to Aviliobris and House Damian to learn more.

It turned out that Penelope had managed to transfer herself to the king’s body. We have imprisoned her, using powerful magics to make a clone of the king, which we have installed upon the throne to bring an end to the war. The astrite golems, however, are beyond the king’s control and we go ourselves to combat them through flight and astrite. It will be grueling work, but soon our land will be safe from the advance.

Two sessions, the second where we mostly discussed what to do and worked out the math on how long it will take to clear the front of golems.

These journal entries are going to be in-character play reports from ByW’s campaign, which we alternated playing with the Tyranny of Mundanity campaign and now the Primordial Frontier campaign. My character, Raglan “the Light”, admires RiH’s character, Anduin Damian and follows him believing his place in history will be as a companion of the royal adventurer. He is impressed with their elven companion, Juniper (played by BiW), but does not know her well.
