The fully divine advancement of a cleric, The priest is fully dedicated to the service of his god. The powers they receive from their god and great skill with magic make them great supporters for combative groups. They have less combative ability even than clerics, wielding lighter weapons and wearing lighter armor. They are automatically fanatics of their deity and can gain god-granted abilities and skills as normal abilities and skills.
The reasons for a character taking this most pious of classes are more varied than the deities they could be devoted to. Whether chosen to be a priest by their god, achieving priesthood by ascension in the god’s church, or declaring priesthood upon himself, the man becoming a priest, and the deity accepting him, will always have their reasons to do so. The magic they choose to practice can be equally varied and much will depend on their god and their previous class in deciding their approach to worship and service of the divine.
