Divine Artifact-The Serpent Rod

SerpentRod“Ssstop there, human!”

Darren nocked an arrow as he stopped. The lizardman down the hall was not casting or charging. He held only a short, silver rod. Grinning, Darren took aim. He was the best archer he knew, and he’d get in two good shots before the lizardman could react.

Suddenly a spout of green burst from the rod, striking Darren. It didn’t hurt enough to stop him, but as he released his arrow, he felt the bite of poison in his veins. The Lizardman retreated, letting the poison do its work.

The Serpent Rod

The Serpent Rod is Wesarin’s most jealously guarded artifact. She grants them only rarely to her most loyal and successful priests. A long silver rod with a serpent’s head at one end, the rod can once per hour spit poison up to 40 feet, dealing 2d6 damage and then 2d3 damage per round for 4d4 rounds. It uses wisdom+intelligence instead of dexterity for its To-Hit multiplier.

The Serpent Rod has a decent range, better than most basic spells. Mind Weave Divine Artifacts are very different than enchanted items. They can do a much wider range of things. Any you would like to see? Comment below and let us know!
