Divine Artifact-Bite Plate

“I can’t believe the snake priests leave this unguarded.”

“Don’t get cocky,  they—ARGH!”

“Quiet!” Shouts and stirring could be heard not far off. “We have to move!”

“My foot!” The stone plate latched to his boot hobbled him as he ran; his companion had soon left him behind.

Bite Plates

Square foot limestone tiles an inch thick that Wesarin frequently bequeaths to the keepers of her shrine. When laid down, buried to be level with the ground, they disguise themselves so a perception level of at least 18 on the tile is required to notice it. When stepped on, the bite plate grows jaws that bite onto the foot for 1d12 damage, latching to slow the victim until removed.

Mind Weave Divine Artifacts are very different than enchanted items. They can do a much wider range of things. Did you like seeing one? Would you use bite plates? Or just look out for them. Comment below and let us know!
