I’m afraid I don’t have a lot of visible progress to report today. I’m behind schedule in just about everything in my life right now with Tuesday being the last day of classes and so the due date for everything. I expect to be able to make more progress this week and even more next week with finals over, so there’s that to look forward to. 🙂
In actual progress news, I’ve determined how to format the database for inventory handling, and I have also written the code that reads item data and displays it everywhere it needs to be on the item management page. I am satisfied that the parameters I require for each item are sufficient to define it for all its fundamental actions. All that is left now is to fill those item parameters for a large number of items and write the code to add and remove items from a character’s inventory.
So that’s what you can expect to see next week. Since I’ve had to push it back, I’m going to raise the goal a little and try to also finish custom item creation and item enchantment. Since enchantments use the magic system rules and can be player made and as infinite as the spells, they still need some definition in order to be balanced, but I think they are very close. Besides, defining the enchantment database would put me ahead on the next task, coding spell casting!
